Santa Clarita, CA – As law enforcement departments face record crime waves and unprecedented levels of violent attacks on officers, Congressman Mike Garcia (R, CA-25) today led his volunteers in Team Garcia’s August Saturday of Service event, collecting and delivering grab-and-go snacks for officers across the 25th district.

“Our brave law enforcement officers are not only dealing with defunded departments and evaporating resources, but they are now fighting to stem the tide of a historic crime wave,” said Garcia. “They are risking their lives day after day to keep us safe, and the least we could do is provide them with some food to help get them through these long days on the job. These men and women are true heroes, and Team Garcia is proud to have their backs.”

This morning, Garcia and a number of volunteers drove carloads of snacks and necessary items like hand sanitizer that they had been collecting for weeks to police and Sheriff’s stations across the district. Making stops at the SCV Sheriff’s Station, Palmdale Sheriff’s Station and Simi Valley Police Department, Team Garcia showed their commitment to supporting officers in communities across the district.

Far from the first time Garcia has taken action to support local law enforcement officers, today’s Saturday of Service comes as the latest in a series of volunteer events supporting local charitable causes. In the past few months, Garcia and his team have hosted a blood drive, collected much-needed food items for local families and delivered care packages to veterans across the district.

With charity as a central tenet of Garcia’s campaign, he has made sure to show his commitment to a wide range of local organizations, going so far as to make personal monthly salary donations at the height of the pandemic. This is just the most recent in a long line of charitable activities hosted by his campaign.
