Granada Hills, CA – Congressman Mike Garcia today led a group of his volunteers as they participated in a community cleanup in Granada Hills. Joined by local residents looking to help out, Garcia and his team picked up leaves and trash around area neighborhoods.
The first Saturday of Service in the recently-added region of the new 27th district, today’s event gave Team Garcia the opportunity to welcome the Granada Hills area into the CA-27 community and showcase their core values of service and charity.
“Our district encompasses some of the most beautiful areas in the country, but it’s no secret that our communities have become less and less clean in recent years,” Garcia said. “I’m proud of Team Garcia for recognizing that and taking the initiative to make sure our district remains a great place to live. Today has also been an incredible opportunity to work together with some of the members of the new CA-27 and display our commitment to service across the district.”
Today’s Granada Hills day of service is a continuation of over a year of events held by Garcia’s campaign. Team Garcia’s track record of charity dates back to the early days of his campaign and includes a blood drive, multiple district-wide food drives, and events supporting local law enforcement officers and veterans.

Mike Garcia believes in a strong national defense and is a pro-business, pro-taxpayer, political outsider with nearly 20 years of service to this country as one of the first Super Hornet strike fighter pilots in the Navy. A first-generation American whose father immigrated to the US in 1959, Garcia is a highly decorated US Naval Officer and successful businessman. The new 27th District encompasses the cities of Santa Clarita, Palmdale, Lancaster and Granada Hills. The ethnic breakdown is 44.9% White, 10.6% Black, 9.5% Asian and 33.3% Hispanic.
